Travel, Florida to Texas

We left Florida on Saturday, Jan. 27 for Texas with a number of stops on the way; .......Haines City, Tallahassee and Port St. Joe to visit with friends and then 3 other nights at RV parks before finally reaching Austin. Bill had a hankering for BBQ..I know, what a surprise...we're still looking for BBQ we like better than or as much as his...and at a stop in FL next to the BBQ place there was a fruit stand who threw their left over citrus in the back pasture which was filled with goats nibbling on the citrus. We're all goat lovers.
This was the calmest Mango and Pearl were...the rest of the time they were shaking, barking and generally out of control. That's how much they like goats.

Irene Cabral and Bill in Tallahassee.
Also in Tallahassee, Mango and Pearl had a great time with Irene, her son, Riordan, and Bob and Julie Collin's son, Sean playing music.
We stopped in Apalachicola for a day, walked around and enjoyed a very interesting town. The boats are part of the shrimping fleet and the stick in the ground is for measuring the water level when the Gulf gets a little unruly.
Now in Austin at McKinney Falls State Park. The trees are without leaves since there's been quite a bit of cold here this year but the grass is green since there's been alot of rain. Sometimes the weather is really cold and sometimes gorgeously balmy and what I consider perfect...high 60's, low 70's and partly sunny. Anyway, we've spent some time with Emile and Stacy...below they came out to our camp for a visit.

Our boats waiting to be used!
Life is good! Karen
