The Old & The New, Austin, TX
This has been a really busy couple of weeks for us and I've been trying to get to this blog for days. It all started when we went to an RV Show in Austin just to "have a look " at what's out there in the way of RV's and accessories. Well, one thing led to another and before you know it a sales person was giving us a quote, because we thought we'd see just for fun how much he was talking about ; and then we realized it was do-able ...for us to get a new RV. It sounds spontaneous - and it was - but our old RV was started to show signs of abuse and we were pleased they were willing to trade with us. We've needed a 5th wheel that could stand up to the pounding of American highways and full time RVing.
Celebration!!! This Texas wine sits on our new table.
Our old Wilderness 5th wheel...31 ft.
Our new Newmar "Torrey Pine" 5th wheel...40 ft.
Dining room, living room.
King size bed, at last.
Spacious living room with comfortable seating, etc.
Kitchen with a big frig across from the entry door.
We'd been organizing for days, lengthy process, and took a break for St. Patrick's Day.
Here was another stressor. Stacy and Emile had been taking care of the pups while we did our camper exchange and we got a phone call just as we returned with the new camper that Mango had blood in his urine. Turns out he had a stone (old) in his bladder. I say had because he had to have surgery to remove it and after the surgery he had kind of a hard time with the pain meds they were giving him...but he is home and doing very well and not without a few gray hairs added to our heads, not the least due to the cost. Yikes. Above is the boy with a "flower" as the vet called it to keep him from licking his staples. (new Mango; no stone) He is running around and completely normal though not playing ball yet. Pearl missed him terribly though I must say she got very used to all the one on one attention and has been more jealous than usual. Life it tough.
Here's the final old and new. Last year's blooms giving way to the new wildflowers of spring.
Texas Bluebonnet
Puccoon
Primrose with a little visitor.
Fragrant Lily and last a sunny flower from the sunflower family.
We are presently traveling on a short trip with my parents, Don and Aggie, Rose and Dee...they answer to either, and we are in Del Rio, TX. But that will be my next posting. Love to all !
