Palo Duro State Park, Texas
This beautiful Primrose grows on the banks of the Medina River in Bandera, TX where we camped for 3 nights. Emile and Stacy came and camped with us for a night to send us off on our travels to Oregon. It was very relaxing at Riverside RV Park and we especially like the town of Bandera, 'Cowboy Capitol of the World' for those of you who don't know it.
We left Bandera Friday the 11th for Palo Duro State Park in northwest Texas. We had one stop in Abilene on the way and because there were no available spots in the local campgrounds we decided to stay in the WalMart parking lot. This is acceptable in the camping world as a viable alternative when on the road and especially when you don't want to take a lot of time ...also to save money...unless you spend a lot in WalMart, of course. It was ok. We had a lot of company..other campers and truckers as well. There was a line up of us by the morning. 
The highways of Hill Country are loaded with wildflowers all along the way in the median and the road sides and are just gorgeous. The state of Texas is wonderful at this. Here we stopped for a break at a rest stop. 
This is the view we have at our site in Palo Duro State Park. Not bad. This park has a great history as a Comanche Indian sanctuary during the Indian Wars and as you drive to it across the prairie, which it is surrounded by, you can't even see the canyon until you are upon it ...and it's gorgeous.
We awoke to turkeys next to our camper this morning. This Tom was strutting his stuff with his 3 hens and when Pearl barked at him from the camper he gobbled!
Bill and I took a walk with the dogs this morning and the rest of the pictures are from that walk.

Dont care what they say we love the truck we have had Dodges and Chevys but the Ford is in a class of its own how does it tow?????
