Parks in Ausin, Texas
One of the Swans ...that live in the area of Emma Long Park ...and her Signets ..first thing in the morning when the lake was bathed in the light of the rising sun.
Now we've moved over to another park southeast of Austin, McKinney Falls State Park, where a creek runs through very pretty woods with paths for hiking and biking. Lots of birds and deer....I like this park thing...as opposed to privately owned campgrounds. The campground was full over New Year's which was interesting to me because it was quite cold here. I mean this is life to us so if it's cold it's cold, but a lot of the campers at the park last week end were vacationing and it was interesting that so many people like winter camping. There were quite a few tents, too...not just RV's with heat. We woke up to temps in the 30's and the last couple of days it's been in the 20's and there are still a few tents at the park though most people who were just vacationing have left.
