December 08, Curry Hammock State Park

Since last year we had been planning Christmas at the Florida Keys with Bill's children and family. Unfortunately, though we planned to all stay at the same state park, making reservations successfully requires some planning and knowledge about how the system works...and I didn't have that knowledge. So, Pat, Brien, the girls and Sue all stayed at a cabin at Bahia Honda State Park while Bill and I, with Billy visiting us there, stayed 10+ miles north at Curry Hammock State Park. However, except for the distance to be together, Curry Hammock was a wonderful surprise.....Small, quiet, nice walking with a beautiful sand beach and easy access, native habitat etc. We loved it.

The Beach

White Ibis fishing the beach.
Sanderlings
Wildflowers I saw on a walk.
Man-O-War washed up on the beach.
I would recommend this park to anyone. It allows tents as well as campers.
