Maine, August Visit to Cranberry Island

There are many islands off the Maine coast ...... beautiful, serene, remote feeling, each with its' own special differences. Some islands have year 'round residents and others year 'round and summer visitors as well like my cousin, Maia, and family.
My sister and I went for a visit to Cranberry Island, where they summer, for a visit. It's a short ride on the ferry from Southwest Harbor and this first picture is of Southwest Harbor as we leave on the ferry.

On our way to Gr. Cranberry we stopped at another island to pick up a few people.

On this Pearly Everlasting we found a Goldenrod Spider feasting on a Bumble Bee

The yellow color is a type of lichen that grows naturally on rocks in this area.
